Whimsical Gardening Ideas

It is important to understand how to add fun items to your garden if you want to create a whimsical space. For planters, you can use vintage garden booths or colorful boots. Place tiny garden containers in these, and hang them from the garden fence for a whimsical touch. Another option is to use birdcages for a whimsical backyard. You can place small plants inside these cages and then set them up on a wooden chair. You can also build a garden chair out of rocks and concrete slabs. You can then secure the pieces together with mortar and add creeping plants to the side.

A whimsical garden can be an interesting addition to a garden that's otherwise uninspiring. A water feature can be a wonderful way to add magic to your garden. A soothing atmosphere can be created by a fountain, waterfall, and trickling stream. Try placing a fountain or trickling water near a seating area for an added touch of whimsy. You can also add yard art and garden decor.

Old watering cans are another way to add fun to your garden. The nozzle of an old watering container can be decorated with crystals of different sizes to mimic the water that leaves the container. These containers can also be hung in strategic locations around your garden. You can also use glass containers as a focal point. These crystal balls shine in the sun and create a sparkling ball, which makes them an excellent addition to any whimsical garden.

A quirky and colorful path is another way to bring a whimsical touch to your garden. Turn an old, broken or unusable pot into a beautiful pathway. You can then plant your favorite flower along the pathway. The possibilities are endless! Don't forget about the lightening rods! You'll be able to make any landscape look better! If you're planning a garden in a small space, make it look like a zen garden. Include special features and mulch. A fun accent can be used as an additional rim to your garden.

Incorporate patina and layering into your whimsical landscaping design. Practical items can be placed in difficult locations. This will show off your originality and beauty. Also, a pebble mosaic can make a wonderful and unique walkway. You can also incorporate a vignette and an enchanting plant to grab people's attention. You can add fun and whimsical touches to your outdoor space without breaking the bank. Just remember that a whimsical garden is a space that invites exploration!

Choose your colors carefully to create a garden with a fun theme. Be aware of the overall theme and colors. If you're not certain which colors are best for your outdoor space, it will be easier to include fanciful accents. To help you get inspired, a magazine or gardening website can provide some ideas. You should choose colors that represent you. Your outdoor space will be alive with creativity and fun!

How To

Organic fertilizers are available for garden use

Organic fertilizers include manure (compost), fish emulsions, seaweed extracts, blood meal, and compost. The term "organic" refers to using non-synthetic materials in their production. Synthetic fertilizers contain chemicals used in industrial processes. Synthetic fertilizers are used widely in agriculture as they supply nutrients quickly and efficiently to plants without the need for laborious preparation. However, synthetic fertilizers pose risks to human health and the environment. They also require large amounts energy and water to make. Many synthetic fertilizers are also harmful to groundwater and water surface because of runoff. This is a problem for wildlife and humans alike.

There are many organic fertilizers available:

* Manure - produced when livestock eat food containing nitrogen (a plant nutrient). It contains bacteria, enzymes, and other substances that break down the waste into simple compounds which can be easily absorbed by plants.

* Compost is a mixture of vegetable scraps and grass clippings, animal manure, and decaying leaves. It is rich in carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, magnesium and sulfur. It is extremely porous and holds water well.

* Fish Emulsion – A liquid product derived from fish oils. It works similarly to soap in that it dissolves oils and fats. It also contains trace elements like phosphorous, Nitrogen, and other elements.

* Seaweed extract - A concentrated solution of minerals from kelp and red algae. It's a great source of vitamins A and C as well as iodine and iron.

* Guano, excrement taken from amphibians, bats, reptiles and seabirds. It contains carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous as well as potassium, sodium and magnesium.

* Blood Meal - The remains of animals slaughtered. It is high in protein, making it suitable for feeding poultry and other livestock. It also contains trace mineral, phosphorus as well as potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus.

To make organic fertilizer, combine equal parts of manure, compost, and/or fish emulsion. Mix thoroughly. If you don't have all three ingredients, you can substitute them one for another. If you have only access to the fish oil emulsion, then you can combine 1 part fish emulsion and 2 parts compost.

Spread the fertilizer evenly on the soil with a shovel, or tiller. About a quarter of a cup of the fertilizer is needed per square foot. To see signs of new growth, you'll need more fertilizer each two weeks.
